Tango Dances in Denver & Boulder

January 25, 2007

D enver has an active and growing tango community, that started in 1996. These days 120-150 dancers attend the Tuesday & Friday milongas. 60 - 100 come out on Saturdays, and you can find smaller milongas most nights of the week. All styles of Argentine Tango are well-represented, milonguero, close-embrace, salon, fantasy and nuevo.

Our Tango club, Tango Colorado, has a membership of over 500. TC sponsors the Tuesday, Denver and Thursday, Boulder practices. Tango Colorado is a registered non-profit, with a charter to promote and sponsor the growth of tango in Colorado. TC is non-aligned with any teacher or organizer, meaning that ALL teachers are welcome to be members and attend our events.

You can also find Tango lessons and dances in other Colorado cities, including in Colorado Springs, Ft Collins, Greeley, Aspen/Glenwood, and Grand Junction.

We have a local tango orquestra that plays for dancing 2-3 times per month at the Mercury Cafe or special dances. Extasis usually performs as a quartet with Evan Orman on Bandoneon
